Our Approach
Ateneo 21 was established to provide a choice of intensive, tailor-made or small group Spanish courses for demanding students. Since then we have provided companies in London with expert tuition for employees as well as prepared families for relocation to Spanish speaking countries and helped students with tuition for university exams.

Our approach is based on the following principles:

We use interactive learning methods
State of the art classroom study involves interactive learning methods derived from the latest findings in the study of language teaching.

We put an emphasis on communication
The average class has an intensive rhythm and features two distinct parts:

• the first part focuses on structured grammar study, learning games, vocabulary, phonetics, exercises as well as listening to audio tapes or reading texts;
• the second part (always related to the first) concentrates on functional language, story telling and role play simulating everyday situations and conversation.

Regular homework assignments are an integral part of the course.

We use a socio-cultural thematic approach
Lessons have both a linguistic and socio-cultural objective. We aim to interest as well as teach our students. We have found that by using real-life examples and looking at the political, economic or social set up in a country we can inspire better learning.

We practice outside the classroom
We will provide you with the opportunity for out-of-class learning by language-rich events taking place in London. At these events you can listen, speak and subsequently learn through practice. This environmental approach aims to develop the fun side of learning and help you to effectively form the bridge between the course and the real world.

We teach universal Spanish
Classes are conducted at all times in Spanish to give you maximum exposure and practice. We teach general Spanish as it is currently spoken and written in Spain, taking important Latin-American variations into consideration.
