Spanish reviews

"There are many different reasons for learning a new language and what motivates me is conversation. But where do you begin? During my first session on the ‘Breakthrough Spanish’ course, Carolina brought us straight into expressing likes and dislikes and opinions - basically, 50% of any conversation. We were talking already! I knew that I had made the best decision coming to Ateneo 21 and left exhilarated; Carolina has created a relaxed environment for learning with classes of 4 people. The Spanish lessons are broken up with activities that are fun, helping to absorb what is taught at a much quicker pace than in any normal classroom. I can now converse and read and am falling more and more in love with the Spanish language".

“I was looking for intensive, fast-moving Spanish classes in order to move into real communication as fast as possible. Not just tourist stuff with hotels and trains, but really to get to grips with and use the language for business and personal communication. This is the place. Carolina’s classes are small; the pace is lively, intense and adaptable, with fine tuning for the requirements of each student. I have only been learning Spanish about six weeks with Ateneo 21 and I am managing to get through the switchboards of Spanish companies, read stories and newspaper articles and quickly becoming an Almodóvar aficionado.”

"You would be surprised what this relaxed Evening Spanish course in central London has to offer....!The topics are 100% relevant. In three months you are really able to handle most common situations with just 1.5 hours of classes per week, which I find unbelievable. After studying at Ateneo 21 for 5 months I moved to Barcelona and started to work as audio-visual technician at the Hilton Diagonal Mar Hotel without any communication problems with clients and Spanish colleagues. When I was studying I really looked forward to the class! Our class was four people and we are good friends. We used to socialise in one of the nearby bars, but there are plenty of other places in the area. Oh, and I forgot, the teacher is very inspiring".

"Gabriel has his final Spanish GCSE exams this week, so I think it makes sense for the lesson he has this Thursday with you to be his last. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the work you have done with him.  It would appear to have made a huge difference to his confidence and performance; his teachers at school have noted his marked improvement.
Gabriel has very much enjoyed the lessons with you, and what I feared might be a bit of a chore for him has been a positive experience and one he looked forward to each week. He is rather sad to be giving it up! I will certainly strongly recommend you to anyone who requires Spanish lessons and will let you know how Gabriel had got on when he gets his results in the summer"

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you my son Jameson had a wonderful time at class. We will keep your details in case we are in London with him needing some classes again".

"We thought Carolina was great and will probably have her in again in the future for subsequent children as they need extra help later on. Many thanks again for excellent organisation.”

"I have attended  one-on-one classes with Carolina in preparation for me DELE exam and in 3 months that I have been doing them my level has improved dramatically, especially in terms of grammar and speaking skills. I have felt confident during my oral as well as listening/reading/writing exam as well as on my following work/holiday trip to Barcelona. I could speak confidently and be understood easily in various situations. I did DELE B1 and would definitely continue classes with Carolina after the summer to prepare for B2 and to improve my Spanish even more!

"I have worked with Carolina for 6 months and found her an able and adaptable Spanish teacher. She has a sound knowledge of the structure of Spanish, is always well prepared and uses a variety of imaginative teaching methods. Her Spanish lessons are tailor-made to my particular needs. I have been impressed by the way in which she has practised various skills with me, including speaking, pronunciation and reading, as well as drilling me on certain idiomatic expressions. There is always something new and challenging in her approach and I feel that any student would benefit from a period under her tutelage".

“When my family decided to move to Buenos Aires, we knew we would need some personal Spanish tuition in a small group to master the basics of Spanish in just two months. Carolina provided a very structured approach, and used a variety of techniques to teach us and our 2 year old - games, pictures, matching exercises, newspapers, reading poetry to our daughter, etc. You can imagine the limited attention span of a 2 year old but Carolina's flexibility helped a great deal. She was also ambitious for what we could learn and spurred us on when we started flagging. Thanks to her, we will be arriving in BA ready to build on a solid foundation in Spanish - instead of starting from scratch.”

Spanish lessons at Ateneo 21 are extremely beneficial and useful for me. The policy of keeping the class size small means that the students have proper opportunities in using and understanding the language during the course, as well as being able to communicate with the teacher constantly. I have a great interest in South America and its culture, and it definitely is a huge benefit for me to be taught by staff who are full of insight and knowledge of the continent. I would like to recommend ateneo 21 to anyone who is considering learning such a fascinating language in an attentive environment.”

"Carolina is a rare and extraordinary teacher. I feel so lucky that I had the opportunity to learn Spanish with her because she is warm, generous, fun, patient, and able to create an atmosphere where I felt safe and relaxed to learn at my own pace. She also did everything to make getting together simple and easy for me by coming to my place at the times convenient to me".

“Ateneo offer fun and inspiring ways to help you learn Spanish at your own pace. As a teacher I thrilled to see that they are flexible, in that they tailor the content of lessons to suit your personal interests and activities vary from throughout each session - which is just what I need to keep me focused after long day in my classroom! I have been with Ateneo 21 for the last year and a half doing a mixture of one to one Spanish lessons and small group Spanish classes. Ateneo is more than just Spanish lessons as they have opened my eyes to Spanish cultural events around London throughout the year. I am honestly thrilled with my progress and have recommended them to my friends who feel are enjoying equal success.”
